My Background:
I am a proud product of Glendale's public schools. Starting with Mark Kepple Elementary and working my way from Toll Middle School to Clark Magnet High School, I learned the important tools I would need to succeed in life. After high school, I attended California State University Northridge where I tapped into my passion for teaching. There I earned my BA degree in Liberal Studies, minoring in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and History. After completing my education program, I received a single subject teaching credential, a multiple subject teaching credential as well as a Bilingual Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development Certificate (BCLAD). I began working with the Glendale Unified School District in 2011 and I decided to continue my education. I joined CSUN's Master of Education: Language and Literacy program and graduated with distinction in May of 2013. Upon returning to CSUN I received my Master of Education degree in Multicultural Multilingual Education in 2015 as well as the Calder Smith Literacy Award.
Who I Am:
I am a passionate educator, committed to the ideal of narrowing the achievement gap by promoting an atmosphere of acceptance, equity, and accessibility. I am An effective multi-tasker with a strong sense of social and academic prowess, and I believe in growth through self improvement. I am a dedicated mentor who works collaboratively with all educators and who strives to address the diverse needs of all my students. I am committed to the success of all my students, and I care for them deeply.
